pgAdmin 4: A database management tool that lets you easily connect to databases, run SQL statements and create tables

If you work with several databases you know how important it is to keep the environment organized so you can efficiently create and populate new tables, as well as connect them to applications.

pgAdmin is a complex tool for database design and management, which enables you to connect to the databases you want, run a variety of SQL statements and create tables. The application allows users to carry out a large number of actions from basic ones like running simple SQL queries to complex tasks like developing comprehensive databases. It has a GUI that resembles the one of PostgreSQL and bundles handy features like an SQL editor, a server side editor and syntax highlighting.

On the left side of the program you can see a tree with all servers and objects contained by each database. In the top right area, you can view informationi about the currently selected object, like the character type, owner, default schema and name.

In the lower part of the application you’ll find a reverse engineered SQL script that lets you see the SQL query for the current object or table. Also, you can view status information and time of last action in the status line.


There’s also a Graphical Query Builder option, through which you can visually build SQL queries, save them to a text file or execute them. With the Query Tool Macros function you can press just one key to execute any pre-defined SQL queries.
