FluidSynth

FluidSynth: Versatile application that provides developers with MIDI playback and rendering features.

The purpose of FluidSynth is to interpret the signals from a MIDI device so users can play the sounds on their computer, and it is based on the SoundFont specification, which can be used for sound rendering as a standalone app.

It will use the samples that are included in the SoundFont files and will process the sounds by using the instruments, which will be a rendering engine that users can configure for both live performances and rendering MIDI files.

The program doesn’t include a user interface, but users will be able to use it in command line mode or by downloading a dedicated front end and can be integrated into other apps, to render SoundFont samples.
