FontLab VI: Next-generation professional font editor that supports all major outline font formats

FontLab is a practical font editor aimed towards designers, typographers and other types of creative professionals. The application offers an intuitive and feature-rich environment that allows you to customize how each symbol in a font appears.

It's possible to open the fonts built-into Windows, from a custom location or even set the application to search for fonts on your PC. On top of that, FontLab lets you create your own fonts from scratch, and includes a sketchboard you can use to illustrate your ideas.

The name, Unicode character, class, and type can be edited for each glyph. FontLab allows you to rotate, shift, scale, mirror, and replace glyphs, but also use effects like shadow, bold, and gradients, and tweak metrics.

Furthermore, the application enables you to delete glyphs from the selected font family, add notes to each glyph, use advanced drawing tools to customize how the glyphs look, as well as perform guide alignment, optimization, conversion, corrections, and interpolation.

You can import EPS, bitmap fonts, backgrounds, EPS, metrics, and Mac font files into FontLabs. Regarding export options, the program supports backgrounds, EPS, and metrics. The project can be saved to a file for later editing. Hotkey support is included and various tutorials are provided online.
