Shotcut: A powerful open source video editor with custom filters and support for a large number of formats

Shotcut is a straightforward piece of software that offers a robust collection of features for video editing, allowing users to easily retouch and tweak movies.

There’s a large variety of video, audio and image formats supported by Shotcut, allowing you a lot of freedom in working with all types of media content. Editing a project is made easy in the ‚Multi-format Timeline’ where you can quickly add videos with various resolutions and framerates. The video can be analyzed frame by frame, giving you complete control over its every aspect.

Shotcut even lets you play MLT XML files as clips, as well as create playlists with this type of file. The video filters collection offers a variety of options like Crop, Mirror, Saturation, Blur, Sharpen, Color Grading, White Balance and so on. You can further tweak the color correction and grading of your videos using the Color Wheels function.

The included audio filters – Gain, Pan and Balance – allow you to correct and improve the sound quality of your favorite movies. Through the Encode section you can convert vidoes between a large number of formats, including AVI, MP4, MOV, OGG, M4A, VOB, FLV, MXF and WEBM among others.
