SNIP: A handy tool that saved information about your iTunes or Winamp tracks

Just like it can be useful to view your browsing history in a web browser, sometimes you might want to look at all the tracks you’ve listened, especially if you’re searching for a specific one. SNIP is a lightweight utility that stores each song you listen to in iTunes, Winamp and other popular players, in a dedicated file so you can find its information later.

The program resides in the System Tray and you can access its context menu from the related icon. There, you can set your default music player and several other options for customizing the way your track history is logged.

The track information can be saved separately, or you can set SNIP to save the name of the audio track, the album artwork and artist in the same plain text document. The application supports some of the most common players, specifically iTunes, Winamp, foobar2000 and VLC.

You can easily switch between any of the supported players from the app’s settings but you cannot use two of them at the same time, since SNIP cannot record track history from both at once.
